Description
Zdzisław Beksiński was a 20th Century Polish painter known for his fantastical dystopian surrealist paintings.
His most famous work was produced in a relatively short period in the 70s and 80s. Despite his fame and success in his home country, the name Zdzisław Beksiński was largely unknown in the West. However, he did manage to exhibit in Germany, France, Italy and Japan while he was alive.
It was only in the twilight years of his life and after his tragic death in 2005 that his art gained critical acclaim across the world. Nowadays, you see his works pop up here and there on instagram or reddit as people rediscover his amazing portfolio.
